I am Professor of Applied Data Science at the Business School of the Bern University of Applied Science. Prior to that, I was a SNSF Ambizione Fellow at the University of Bern and held positions as a PostDoc at the LMU Munich and the University of Zurich. Moreover, I do consultatory work for different institutions and organizations, for example, the University of Teacher Education Bern or the Historic Museum Thurgau. I obtained my PhD in Sociology of Education from the University of Bern in 2017, where I also completed an additional Master’s degree in mathematical statistics. Prior to that, I studied sociology and political science at the University of Zurich. Thus, it comes as no surprise that I am mainly interested in the statistical modeling of social interaction processes in a variety of settings and how interdependent decisions produce and reinforce social inequality.
