About

I am a professor of Applied Data Science at the Business School of the Bern University of Applied Science, where I am also finishing my SNSF Ambizione project. Prior to this, I held positions at UNIBE, UZH, UNIFR, and the LMU Munich. I obtained my PhD from the University of Bern, where I also completed an additional Master’s degree in mathematical statistics.

Research

My research evolves around the statistical modelling of decision making processes in different contexts and the resulting externalities, namely in terms of education, labor market and political participation outcomes.

Teaching

I have thought a variety of courses in social stratification, research methods, ML, and statistics, focusing on an applied perspective that is hopefully of use for students‘ future careers. See my Teaching portfolio for information.
